Immigrant Emergency Assistance Fund Update

  • From March 1 to August 31, 2020 we have received more than $17,000.

  • In August, ISCU distributed nearly $5,000 in rent & utilities assistance

  • Future goal: raise an additional $30,000 by Dec. 31, 2020.

  • The IEAF will provide monthly reports of its assistance to its partner organizations and an annual report of its activities to all donors to the fund. It is our goal with our community partners to grow the IEAF to develop a sustainable approach for rapidly responding to families facing emergencies beyond the current crisis created by the pandemic.

We encourage organizations to join this partnership so we have a community-wide, sustainable approach to helping immigrant families overcome their challenges and rebuild their lives now and when the pandemic has abated. For more information about becoming an IEAF partner organization or making an individual or organization donation to the IEAF, please send an email to iscu2day@gmail.com. The Immigrant Emergency Assistance Fund (IEAF), is a partnership with ISCU, the Immigrant Justice Task Force at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana Champaign, Bend the Arc C-U, and the CU Immigration Forum. The purpose of this fund is to build a partnership among faith-based and community organizations to provide ongoing resources to immigrants in Champaign County who are facing emergencies requiring small grants.
